BSA Troop 57

Established in 1948, troop 57 is a group of young adults between the ages of 11 and 17 from Glenview and Northbrook.

Our troop is made of a great group of both boys and girls. We are the only troop in Northeast Illinois Council where boys and girls are fully combined. We have troop meetings together. We camp together. We serve the community together.

Troop Meetings

Our troop meetings give our scouts a chance to get together weekly. In our troop meetings we plan for upcoming campouts, work on rank requirements, and play games together. We even invite merit badge counselors to visit our meetings to ensure there is always something new to experience.

Our troop meetings are held Sunday evenings at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in downtown Glenview. We are so grateful to OLPH for providing us a dedicated scout room for us to meet in. Having our own space enhances the feeling that our troop is more than just a group, we’re a community.

Youth Leadership

Scouting is a youth lead organization and we really take that to heart.

Every six months the troop elects new Senior and Assistant patrols leaders. They will meet monthly to decide what campouts they want to do and what activities they want to do in troop meetings. Then they will lead those activites.

Service

A sentence on service

Twice a year, our troop walks the mile stretch between Chestnut and Glenview to pick up trash to keep our community clean

Each year our troop partners with St. Sabina Parish to pack 200 care packages of basic household items for those in need

Before a Scout can earn the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, they must organize, plan, and lead a community service project

Camping

Fundamental to the scout experience, Troop 57 camps at least once a month. Checkout some of our favorites!

High Adventure

For scouts 14 years or older our crew challenge themselves to scouting most challenging adventures

An immersive backcountry backpacking trek through the rugged and beautiful mountains of northern New Mexico.

Set sail though the Florida Keys for fishing, snorkeling, and island camping

Canoe and hike though a vast network of lakes and rivers in the Norther Tier of Minnesota

Eagle Scout Rank

The Eagle Scout Award is the highest rank attainable in Scouts BSA representing a culmination of years of dedication, leadership, and service. It signifies a scout’s commitment to the ideals of Scouting and their positive impact on their community.

Eagle Scouts have a long legacy at OLPH dating back to our troop’s founding in 1948!

We’d like congratulate our newest scouts to achieve the Eagle Scout Rank.
