Fox River Canoe Trip
Most years we organize a campout to go canoeing down the Fox River. This year we canoed an 8.5 mile stretch of the Fox river in southern Wisconsin.
The first thing we have to do is get the canoes unloaded from the trailer. They are heavy but with some team work the scouts are able to get everything unloaded.
Our crew is excited to get started.
We have a mixture of new and experience scouts. It’s slow going at first as the new scouts learn how to steer but the older scouts are a big help in teaching them what to do.
We spent a lot of time in the water but don’t think that means they don’t know what they are doing. The scouts capsized on purpose so they could practice getting their canoes back out of the water. Plus its a lot of fun!
Just before finishing our trip a friendly local turned on his waterslide for the scouts. What a fun surprise to end the trip!
