Makajawan Summer Camp

Makajawan is a full week of camping and a highlight of every scout’s experience. Troop 57 goes in Makajawan’s first week which is typically the week before the 4th of July.

Makajawan is located in northern Wisconsin so we have to get up really early to make the long (~4.5 hour) drive. But trust us, it’s well worth it once we get there.

At Makajawan scouts get an opportunity to learn a variety of new skills by taking any of the more than 30 merit badges available such as sailing, wood carving, leatherworking, environmental science.

Scouts also get an opportunity to take part in a variety of other activities such as horse back riding, archery, shotgun, climbing or open boating.

In between activities there is still plenty of time to just hang out, go to the trading post, and goof off with friends.

Which is important, because the real value of the Makajawan experience is the friends you make along the way!
