Iron Chef
The iron chef campout has become an annual tradition and a favorite campout for our troop. Just like the TV show the scouts will compete to create the most impressive and delicious dinner. This years secret ingredient: cranberry.
We start the day off leisurely. Preparing the cook site. A few requirements. Soo much bacon.
In the afternoon with help out Adam with his eagle project. We planted over 700 native plants to restore this wildlife habitat.
The main event begins. Mrs. Kissner explains the rules of the competition. Each of the teams must use this shared food pantry to make their dishes plus the one ingredient each patrol brought themselves.
They had 3 hours in which to plan and cook.
Stir Fry. French Fries. Cranberry Apple Crisp. Taco Bar. Cranberry bread. Sushi. Fried Rice. Tanghulu. Delicious.
Oh, and the next morning we all woke up to snow. You never know with fall camping but a lot of our scouts earned their first frost points for camping in below freezing weather.
